...Just making sure I can post to the community. I ask that everyone respond just so we all know who is and who is not reading these posts.

  • meeting at the vibbert/crick household

  • food is quiche, provided by ross and kari (though they didn't mention, i'm assuming donations of a couple dollars are welcomed)

overall, i don't know if lj is going to work much better than mailing
lists. as far as i can tell, there's no way to get all lj posts and
comments to get emailed to all members, is there? that means that in
order to see what's current, we have to go to the site to check, and tod
at least isn't too likely to do that (he has enough sites and such to
remember to check). i guess if everyone else prefers the lj community
to email mailing lists, i can keep tod informed for a while, but when
stop gaming (when i stop having a consistent day off, i.e. 3rd
clerkships), this probably won't work as well.

In the interest of letting everyone know what's going on (and make it nice and easy since it's right on top of your friends page), a new post!

Ross and I intend to provide dinner for gaming on Sunday. The current plan is 4 quiches. The fillings (as planned thus far) are:

Quiche 1: Ground beef, tomato, cheddar cheese, and bacon (a sort of baconcheeseburger quiche)

Quiche 2: Ham and swiss cheese (maybe with some veggies?)

Quiche 3: Chunks of chicken breast with as yet undetermined veggies (maybe peas, carrots, celery, and green beans) and some as yet undecided cheese (choices are pretty much swiss, cheddar, mozzarela, or we go buy some more)

Quiche 4: Assorted veggies such as broccoli, bell pepper, tomato, corn, and carrots

These are, of course, malleable if somebody has a favorite veggie they'd like to add or a previously unmentioned allergy to eggs or something. If anybody has a suggestion, speak up soon before shopping occurrs.

A few things here. First off, a couple of us were discussing after the last session that we may want to have a different way to communicate than just the email list. I have gone ahead and set up a live-journal community (because I know quite a few of us, if not all use LJ) which is located at http://www.livejournal.com/community/marimba_gaming/

Secondly, I was wondering if we could push the starting time back to 2 PM. Kari and I can make it home from Church by 1, but we are often a few minutes late. This also allows John to set up maps and what not at our home if he comes at around 1 and gaming doesn't start until 2.

Next, I was wondering what people would like to do for dinner this coming up Sunday. I still have quite a bit of the soda left over from this past sunday, including unopened bottles of Mountain Dew and Sprite.

Finally, where it is going to be held, though John pretty much has the final word on this, and I think he wants it to be at his house this week.
